Clean Home Recipes
All of these supplies collected for making soap and cosmetics are equally effective in cleaning your home. Not only is it more healthy for you and your home, but enables you to buy larger-and cheaper-amounts of supplies. You can even use some of your "ugly soap", that didn't turn out just so- to make liquid soap and laundry detergent. Cleaning your home will seem more interesting when you are making your own products.

Microwave Cleaner 1
Ingredients
 | 1/4 cup water
| juice from one lemon

- Instructions
- Put water and lemon in a small bowl. Microwave for one and a half minutes. Let steam in microwave for five minutes. Wipe clean with towel.
Wash the glass turntable with regular dish soap.
Microwave Cleaner 2
Ingredients
| 1/4 cup baking soda
| 1 teaspoon vinegar
| 6 drops lemon essential oil

- Instructions
- Mix ingredients to make a paste. Apply to interior of microwave with a sponge. Rinse and leave door open to dry for 15 minutes.
Wash the glass turntable by hand. This recipe will get rid of food odors...great for getting rid of that popcorn smell.
Citrus Appliance Cleaner
Ingredients
| 1 teaspoon liquid castile soap
| 1/8 cup white vinegar
| 1/4 cup lemon juice
| 2 cups water
| 6 drops grapefruit seed extract
| 4 drops lemon or orange essential oil
| 1 teaspoon borax

- Instructions
- Mix ingredients thoroughly in a spray bottle. Shake well before use. Spray on appliance surface and whip with a damp cloth or sponge. Wipe dry with a towel. the cover.
Shake mixture onto carpet, wait 15 minutes and vacume.
Borax Carpet Cleaner
Ingredients
| 1 cup borax
| 15 drops of essential oil (lavender for bedrooms, tea tree for pet areas)

- Mix ingredients thoroughly. Put in baking soda, baby powder or other container with holes in the cover.
Shake mixture onto carpet, wait 15 minutes and vacume.
Orange Wall Cleaner
Ingredients
| 1 cup water
| 1/2 cup vinegar
| 6 drops of orange essential oil

- Mix ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake before use. Simply spray on wall surface and wipe with a damp sponge.
This recipe is mild for routine cleaning of wall surfaces.
Castile Floor Cleaner
Ingredients
| 1 gallon hot water
| 2 tablespoons liquid castile soap
| 15 drops orange essential oil
| 10 drops lemon essential oil or 1/4 cup lemon juice

- Instructions
- Blend all ingredients in mop bucket. Mop floor as usual.
No need to rinse!
Mirror, Window, and Faucet cleaner
Ingredients
| 1 1/2 cups vinegar
| 1/2 cup water
| 10 drops lemon or orange essential oil
| |
- Instructions
- Combine in a spray bottle. Shake gently before each use. Spray solution and wipe with paper towel or other dry cloth. This solution cleans as well as minimizes mirror fogging.
