Seraphim

Description Seraphim (plural of Seraph)  are an order of angels with fervent zeal and religious ardor.  They are described as having three pairs of wings, one of which covers their faces as a token of humility, one of which covers their feet as a token of respect and one of which allows them to fly.

Features Generally like the figure of a man, with six wings.  In heraldry, the body is not shown.

Described By: King James Bible Isaiah 6: 1-2 - "In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly."
